However, we understand there are so many intricate pieces to trading and we really love to get into very specific topics in trading where a deeper understanding can be conveyed. General Trading Topics
Every new trader wants to jump into the technical analysis, option strategies and live trading. However, there are so many basic concepts beyond those important things a trader will also need to learn to ultimately be successful. In our General Trading Topics, we cover many of these finer points that aren’t about a chart, a strategy or an actual trade. It’s about being a trader, riding the ups and downs and how the markets are constantly changing.

Maverick Trading is primarily an options trading firm and we train our traders to use options to give them superior risk management, optimized capital allocation and the ability to diversify their trading capital. However, there are many concepts a trader needs to understand about basic stock to be able to fully unlock the power of trading options.

Exchange Traded Funds have become a major driving force behind stock, bond and commodity movements since they were created in 1992. ETFs now account for 40% of all stock trading volume and close to 70% of option trading volume which makes understanding them very important for a trader of today. In our ETF series, we cover basic ETF concepts and then dive into the leveraged, inverse and inverse leveraged trading products a trader can use to trade their capital
Beginning Charting
This section contains videos about the basic nature of technical analysis, why it works and what are the origins. In our Training Center, we have very specific videos on each type of candlestick, indicator, pattern, etc. These videos contain a more philosophical perspective of technical analysis to put you on the right frame of mind to how to unlock the power of the charts and not get bogged down in the meaningless details
Advanced Charting
Technical Analysis is the foundation of the skills a person needs to possess in order to be a professional trader. There are hundreds or possibly thousands of ways to use technical analysis and their are endless indicators, oscillators and price patterns. At Maverick Trading, we know there are many, many ways to be a profitable trader using technical analysis; but there is only ONE way for YOU to be a profitable trader which is why we have our traders go through a rigorous process of developing. proving and perfecting a trading system using technical analysis
Option Basics
In the beginning, stock options were fairly simple with limited expiration dates, limited strike prices and only a small amount of stocks with options. Now, the options marketplace has exploded and there is no longer a simple set of rules about option trading like there were 25 years ago. In this section, our videos cover all of the recent additions to the basics of option trading and the technology available that allows us to really pinpoint exact profit and loss odds and percentages
Option Greeks
In the Option Foundations section of our Training Center, we cover all of the 5 major Greeks and how they work and affect option prices. Each Greek follows specific rules and you can manually determine the changes based on these rules. In our Option Greeks additional content section, we go deeper into the Greeks and discuss finer points of how they are used, how they are traded and some of the strange things that can occur if you don’t understand these finer points
Option Labs
At Maverick Trading, we know that live, hands on learning can be the best way to learn, understand and be able to deploy certain trading strategies. Over the years, we have held many live trading labs where we identify a trade, build the option strategy and actually enter the trade showing order entry. While these videos are no longer live, it gives a great perspective on watching a professional trader go through the entire trade process from A to Z.
Option Strategies
In our Training Center, we cover all of the basic option strategies and combinations in our Directional Options and Non-Directional Options sections. In these videos, we dive into some more complex option strategies and have little twists and adjustments of the basic option combinations to create a slightly different set of Greeks to fully match your underlying outlook on the financial asset you are trading
Advanced Option Concepts
In this section of Additional Content, we have many higher level option videos that cover a wide range of topics from volatility changes around earnings, different option trading products and some of the rarely talked about Greeks past the big 5
Economics
Economics are the driving force behind ALL the movement in the financial markets. Interest rates in Japan can have a driving impact on the value of US equities and vice versa. In these videos, we go into deeper discussions about these forces and how there are invisible webs linking all the financial markets (stocks, bonds, currencies, commodities). Understanding these links will help a trader see larger macro trends in financial prices and will help them position well for the rise and falls
